Inogeni 4KX-PLUS - HDMI to USB 3.0 Converter / 4K30 / HDMI Loop / Analog Audio
Streaming Valley Europe, Morsestraat 6, 6716 AH Ede
Key features
- Captures uncompressed HDMI video with audio over USB 3.0 (UVC/UAC)
- Up to 4K (3840/4096×2160) at 30 fps and 1080p at 60 fps
- HDMI loop output to feed a display or codec at the same time
- Analog audio in and out (3.5 mm jack) alongside HDMI audio
- External 5V power keeps the HDMI loop active even without a laptop connected
- Driverless on Windows, macOS and Linux; also USB 2.0 (MJPEG)
How it works
The 4KX-PLUS turns an HDMI source (camera, codec or media player) into a standard USB webcam signal. The computer recognises it straight away as a camera and microphone, with no installation. The loop output passes the same HDMI signal to a second display. Colour space, sampling and frame rate conversion are handled in hardware, so the host is not loaded.
Applications
Designed for BYOM in Cisco Webex rooms: the room camera, audio and displays become available to the user's laptop over USB, so Teams, Zoom or Google Meet can use the professional room equipment. Also suitable for streaming and recording from HDMI cameras.
Limitations
4K is passed at up to 30 fps; UHD upscaling is not supported. Image controls (brightness, contrast etc.) do not work on 4K signals. HDCP-protected sources are not captured.
