Magewell USB Capture HDMI Gen 2 - USB 3.0 Capture Device / HDMI / 1080p60

Key features

• HDMI input up to 1920×1200p60
• Hardware scaling, deinterlacing and frame rate conversion
• Audio automatically converted to 48 kHz PCM stereo
• 64 MB memory as buffer against dropped frames
• Also works on USB 2.0 (lower resolution/frame rate)

How it works

The device works as a standard UVC/UAC webcam and microphone: plug it into a USB port and it is recognised without drivers by Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS. Scaling, deinterlacing and colour conversion are done in the device itself, so you simply choose the format you want in your software and the computer's processor is offloaded.

Applications

Streaming and recording with OBS, vMix or Wirecast, using cameras in Zoom, Teams or Google Meet, lecture capture, recording gameplay and bringing broadcast or surveillance video into a laptop.

Limitations

No loop-through and no 4K input. HDCP-protected sources cannot be captured.
