Features

The SWIT CL-100D is a professional 100W bi-color SMD LED panel light for broadcast studios, livestreaming, interviews, chromakey, and other fixed or semi-fixed studio installations. The wide coverage area with 1,440 SMD LEDs produces a soft and even light with a luminous intensity of up to 3,300 lux at 1 meter .

The color temperature is steplessly adjustable from 2700K to 6500K , allowing the CL-100D to produce both warm artificial light and cool daylight. With a CRI of 97, TLCI of 99, and SSI D55 of 75, the lamp has been developed for accurate and consistent color reproduction during professional video recording.

The wide 65° half-peak beam angle ensures even distribution over a relatively large surface area. This allows the CL-100D to be used as a key light, fill light, or general studio lamp where a soft light source is desired rather than a highly concentrated spot.

For professional studio installations, the lamp features DMX512 control via 5-pin XLR , PowerCON TRUE1 AC input and output, and a USB-A power output for an optional wireless DMX receiver. Furthermore, the CL-100D utilizes fanless passive cooling , allowing the lamp to operate completely silently during audio and video recording.

Operation

The CL-100D combines warm white and cool white SMD LEDs to produce a variable color temperature between 2700K and 6500K . This allows the color of the light to be adjusted to existing lighting or the desired look of the shot, without the need for separate color filters.

SWIT uses selected SMD LEDs to minimize color differences between the individual light sources as much as possible. This is particularly important when multiple CL-100D panels are used together in a single studio and consistent color reproduction across the entire set is desired.

The brightness can be set between 0 and 100% , independent of the color temperature. Digital PWM dimming ensures that the brightness can be adjusted without unwanted flickering during normal video recording.

Settings can be changed locally via the control panel and LCD display, or controlled remotely via a professional DMX512 system.

Wide and soft studio light

The SMD LED construction of the CL-100D ensures a relatively wide and uniform light distribution. With a 65° half-peak beam angle , the light is distributed over a larger area than with a highly focused LED spot.

This makes the lamp particularly suitable for lighting presenters, interviews, small studio presentations, and other situations where even lighting of people or backgrounds is desired.

The included metal 4-leaf barn doors can be used to partially shield unwanted light scattering. To further limit the light beam, the optional SWIT LA-G100 40° honeycomb can be installed.

Professional color reproduction

For camera shots, not only the amount of light is important, but also its spectral quality. The CL-100D has a CRI Ra of 97 and a TLCI of 99 .

The high TLCI score is particularly relevant for professional video production, because this metric looks at how colors are rendered by a camera system under the relevant light source.

This makes the CL-100D suitable for applications where natural skin tones and consistent color reproduction are important.

DMX512 control

For fixed studio installations, the CL-100D features DMX512 via 5-pin XLR inputs and outputs . This allows brightness and color temperature to be adjusted from a central lighting controller.

The DMX addresses for dimming and color temperature can be configured separately. This allows, for example, multiple lamps to follow the same color temperature together, while each lamp can be dimmed individually.

This is practical for larger studio setups where multiple CL-100D panels are controlled from a single lighting control unit.

PowerCON TRUE1 pass-through power supply

The lamp features PowerCON TRUE1 AC input and loop output . This allows multiple CL-100D luminaires to be daisy-chained within a fixed installation.

This reduces the number of separate power cables to wall sockets and simplifies a neat, permanent studio installation. Naturally, the total load must remain within the capacity of the circuit, cabling, and connectors used.

Fanless cooling

The CL-100D uses passive heat dissipation and has no built-in fan . As a result, no fan noise is produced during use.

This is an important advantage in studios where lights are placed close to microphones, such as during interviews, webinars, podcasts, livestreams, and television productions.

Limits

The CL-100D is primarily designed as a professional studio light. As a result, there are several features that must be taken into account when choosing this model.

• The lamp does not have an integrated rechargeable battery or battery holder and is primarily intended for mains power use.
• The CL-100D is a bi-color fixture and not an RGB/RGBWW lamp . Therefore, saturated colors such as red, green, or blue cannot be produced directly.
• The adjustable white color range is limited to 2700K-6500K .
• No extensive creative lighting effects such as lightning, fire, or police effects are specified.
• Standard DMX control is via a wired 5-pin XLR. Additional compatible hardware is required for wireless DMX control.
• The USB-A port is intended as a 5V power output , among other things for an optional wireless DMX receiver, and not as a general video, data, or computer interface.
