The SWIT LA-WR8 Wireless DMX Kit is a compact wireless DMX512 controller that allows lighting to be easily controlled remotely without the use of DMX cables. The set consists of one wireless controller and three wireless DMX receivers, enabling professional lighting to be quickly integrated into mobile productions, studios, and locations where cabling is impractical.

Thanks to the 2.4 GHz wireless connection and a range of up to 400 meters (line-of-sight), the LA-WR8 offers a reliable solution for controlling virtually all fixtures that use the standard DMX512 protocol. The controller features eight physical faders and seven separate wireless groups, allowing a total of 56 DMX channels to be controlled independently.

Operation

The LA-WR8 controller wirelessly transmits DMX512 signals to one or more LA-WR8-R receivers. Each receiver is connected to the 5-pin DMX input of a fixture and receives its power via a USB connection.

By assigning the same group color to the controller and receiver, a wireless connection is established immediately without complex configuration. One controller can control multiple receivers simultaneously, allowing complete lighting setups to be centrally managed.

The controller features eight physical sliders for direct control of DMX channels. The group switch allows for quick switching between seven separate groups.

Key features

Wireless DMX512 control

The LA-WR8 supports the universal DMX512 protocol and can therefore be used with virtually all professional lighting that features a standard 5-pin DMX connector.

This allows dimmers, color temperature, RGB colors, and other DMX functions, among others, to be controlled wirelessly.

2.4 GHz wireless transmission

The system uses a stable 2.4 GHz wireless connection with automatic pairing between the controller and receivers.

Thanks to anti-interference technology, the connection continues to function reliably even in busy wireless environments.

The maximum range is approximately 400 meters under ideal conditions.

56 DMX channels

The controller features:

• 8 physical DMX faders

• 7 separate groups

With this, up to 56 DMX channels can be controlled independently.

Each group is indicated by its own color indicator, allowing for quick switching between different light groups.

Plug-and-play installation

After setting the same group on the controller and receiver, the connection is established automatically.

As a result, no network configuration or addressing is necessary, and the system can be used almost immediately.

Compact receivers

The included LA-WR8-R receivers feature:

• standard 5-pin DMX output

• USB power supply

• rotatable housing (approx. 300°)

This allows them to be easily connected to a wide range of DMX fixtures.

Flexible power supply

The controller can be powered via:

• 2 AA batteries

• 5V Micro-USB

This allows for working both mobile and for extended periods using a USB power supply or power bank.

The receivers use exclusively 5V USB power and can often be powered directly via the USB port of compatible lamps.

Blackout function

With a single press of the Blackout button, all connected fixtures are switched off immediately.

This is useful during rehearsals, lighting changes, or emergency situations.

Energy-saving sleep mode

When the controller is not used for approximately one minute, it automatically switches to sleep mode to limit battery consumption.

Limits

• Only suitable for fixtures that support the standard DMX512 protocol.

• The receivers require a 5V USB power supply.

• Not waterproof or dustproof; intended exclusively for use in dry conditions.

• A maximum of eight DMX channels per group can be controlled directly.

• The wireless range of 400 meters applies only under ideal line-of-sight conditions and may decrease due to obstacles or wireless interference.

• Works exclusively with the included or compatible LA-WR8-R receivers for wireless DMX communication.
