Kiloview Cradle series RU03 16 Channel Rackmount

Features

The Kiloview RU03 is a 19″ rackmount chassis designed for use with Kiloview service cards such as RN-3, RE-3, encoder and decoder modules.
The 3RU format accommodates multiple service cards in a single physical frame, including integrated power supply, active cooling, and internal network switch functionality. The chassis forms the foundation for modular AV-over-IP and NDI workflows.

Operation

The RU03 chassis provides the mechanical enclosure, power supply, network interfaces, and hot-swap slots for Kiloview service cards.
Each module (such as encoder or decoder cards) is inserted into a slot and automatically powered via the chassis power distribution system.
The system supports central management via a web-based interface or Kiloview's central management software, which allows cards to be configured, monitored, and managed. Internal network switch components facilitate IP data traffic between service cards and external interfaces.

Application

The RU03 chassis is used in professional AV, broadcast and IP video installations where:

• Multiple AV function cards must be mounted centrally and compactly

• Encoding/Decoding, conversion, NDI input/output and streaming services must be combined

• Modular scalability is required for live production, studio environments or OB vans

• Central network-based video workflows are deployed

The chassis forms the physical backbone of multi-card systems, ideal for installations requiring a high degree of redundancy, flexibility and monitoring.

Limits

• The chassis does not include standalone video functionality without service cards.

• Available features depend entirely on the installed maps.

• Installation requires knowledge of rack mounting, network infrastructure, and AV workflows.

• Power, cooling, and networking configuration must be integrated into the rack environment with those of other systems.

• Compatibility with cards should be checked beforehand based on weight, size and specifications.
