Kiloview RN-3 3G SDI Full NDI Encoding/Decoding Card

Features

The Kiloview RN-3 is a bi-directional 3G-SDI ↔ NDI High Bandwidth encoding/decoding service card for use in a compatible Kiloview rackmount chassis (e.g. RU01 or RU03).
The card supports conversion between 3G-SDI video and NDI High Bandwidth streams , with integrated SDI loop-through function for real-time monitoring.

Operation

The RN-3 receives video signals via a 3G-SDI input and can encode this signal to NDI High Bandwidth for IP distribution across the rack platform. The card can also decode incoming NDI High Bandwidth streams to 3G-SDI output with loop-through, keeping the signal locally visible. The SDI loop-through function enables real-time management and signal routing without additional hardware.

Configuration and management are performed via the central rack management software. Audio and PTZ control are supported, depending on the chassis configuration.

Application

The RN-3 is used in professional AV-over-IP and broadcast environments for:

• Bidirectional conversion between 3G-SDI and NDI High Bandwidth

• Integrating SDI cameras into NDI networks

• Displaying NDI streams on SDI monitors

• Real-time signal routing with SDI loop-through

• PTZ control via IP networks

The card is intended for modular rack installations where video from SDI sources needs to be efficiently shared into IP workflows and vice versa.

Limits

• No standalone operation – requires compatible Kiloview rackmount chassis

• Supports up to HD signals up to 1080p60

• Function depends on chassis management software

• Cannot record directly; external systems required for capture

• Streaming performance dependent on chassis network bandwidth
