Middle Things Fiber Camera Box PTZ 12G

The Middle Things Fiber Camera Box PTZ 12G is a compact dual-channel optical converter that converts a dual 4K SDI In + 4K SDI Out + LAN IP 1G signal into a single fiber optic cable via a robust Neutrik OpticalCon Duo connector. It looks very similar to the Fiber Camera Box 12G; the only difference is the added 1G LAN port on the back, making it ideal for PTZ cameras!

Three cables in one, made for efficiency, long distances... and PTZ!

Have you ever struggled with the time-consuming task of running three different SDI cables to a single camera—one for input, one for return feed, and one for LAN control? The Fiber Camera Box 12G combines these three cables into a single fiber optic cable, which is lighter and much more reliable than traditional copper BNC cables because it is impervious to all electromagnetic interference. You can run your fiber optic cable for thousands of kilometers without dropouts... in 4K!

Robust converter, designed for field use

The converter's compact size, aluminum housing, and VLock clamp make it ideal for on-camera use. With both an SDI input and SDI output, the cameraman can also receive program video (or other video) from the control room. Because the Blackmagic Camera Control & Talkback protocol is also supported, it is the perfect companion for a URSA Broadcast, a URSA Mini, or a Studio Camera 4K Pro. A D-tap to 12V canister adapter is included, allowing you to power the converter from your camera.

Industry standard and widely used fiber connector

Thanks to the Neutrik Optical ConDuo connector, this converter is compatible with both the widespread LC/LC fiber cables and the robust Optical Con Advanced Duo & Duo Lite cables from Neutrik, designed for field use and harsh conditions. The connector features a built-in automatic shutter that protects the fiber cores as soon as the cable is disconnected.

In combination with a Fiber Dispatch 4 PTZ or another Fiber Camera Box 12G PTZ, many configurations are possible that will significantly improve your daily multi-camera workflow!

Compatibility (read!)

The Fiber Camera Box PTZ 12G (Slave) can be used with the Fiber Camera Box PTZ 12G (Master), the Middle Things Dispatch 4 PTZ 12G, or the Fiber Camera Box SDI 12G (Master). The Fiber Dispatch 4 is not required. Two Fiber Camera Box PTZ units can be connected to each other, but please note that a Slave unit must be used with a Master and vice versa. You cannot connect a Slave to a Slave or a Master to a Master.

The Dispatch 4 PTZ acts as the master device. Apart from this compatibility difference, the Slave and Master are exactly the same device in terms of functions.

Supported SDI video signals are 3G, 6G, and 12G (max 2160p60).
