How it works

Connect an HDMI camera or other source and the 4KXUSB3 appears on the computer as a standard USB camera. HD signals are sent as 4:2:2 8-bit over USB 3.0, 4K signals as 4:2:0. Embedded HDMI audio and/or the analog input are passed as stereo LPCM. Through the terminal block port the converter translates UVC camera control to VISCA, so pan/tilt/zoom works from Zoom or Teams.

Applications

Meeting rooms with an HDMI PTZ camera, streaming, recording and lecture capture. Tested with OBS, vMix, Wirecast, Zoom, Teams, Webex and Barco ClickShare Conference, among others.

Limitations

On USB 2.0 the converter only works at resolutions below 1080p. 4K is limited to 30 fps, no upscaling to UHD. HDCP-protected sources are not captured.
