How it works

Windows, macOS and Linux recognise the 4K2USB3 as a standard webcam. The HDMI signal is converted in hardware to the right format: 4:2:2 8-bit for SD/HD and 4:2:0 for 4K. HDMI audio is passed as stereo LPCM. Nothing needs to be installed.

Applications

Use an HDMI camera, camcorder or switcher output in Zoom, Teams, OBS, vMix or Wirecast for streaming, recording and video conferencing.

Limitations

No HDMI loop output and no analog audio (see the 4KXUSB3 for that). On USB 2.0 only resolutions below 1080p. 4K is limited to 30 fps. HDCP-protected sources are not captured.
