How it works

In encoder mode the N5 turns an SDI camera into an NDI stream on the network; in decoder mode it picks up an NDI source and outputs it as SDI. Switching modes is done in the web interface. As a decoder you can preset up to nine NDI sources and switch between them without black frames, even with a simple USB keypad.

Applications

Connect SDI cameras to an NDI production (vMix, TriCaster, OBS), display NDI sources on SDI monitors or recorders, and control PTZ cameras over the network.

Limitations

Maximum 1080p60 (no 4K). One direction at a time: encoder or decoder.
