AVMATRIX SE1117 H.265/ H.264 SDI Streaming Encoder

The AVMATRIX SE1117 is a compact 3G-SDI streaming encoder that converts an SDI video signal directly into an IP stream for livestreaming, IPTV, or professional video distribution. The encoder supports both H.264 and H.265 (HEVC) compression and processes video signals up to 1080p60 . Thanks to support for RTMP , RTMPS , SRT , RTSP , RTP , HTTP , and UDP , among others, the SE1117 is suitable for virtually any modern streaming workflow.

The encoder features a 3G-SDI input , an SDI loop output for local monitoring or looping through to other equipment, and an analog audio input for adding external audio sources. Configuration is handled entirely via a web interface, eliminating the need for a computer during streaming.

Operation

The SE1117 receives an SDI video signal and encodes it in real-time into an H.264 or H.265 video stream. Via the Gigabit Ethernet connection, this stream is sent directly to a streaming server or platform such as YouTube, Facebook Live, Twitch, Wowza, or a private media server.

The encoder supports a main stream and a substream simultaneously, so that, for example, a high-quality livestream and a stream with a lower bitrate for mobile devices or monitoring can be broadcast at the same time.

External sound can be added to the stream via the analog audio input. Additionally, text, images, and logos can be displayed as overlays. Thanks to the SDI loop output, the original video signal remains available for a monitor or video mixer. All settings are managed via the built-in web interface, and firmware updates can be easily performed remotely.

Limits

Although the SE1117 offers many streaming options, there are a few points to consider:

• Supports only 3G-SDI video sources ; HDMI sources require an external converter.

• Maximum input and stream resolution is 1080p60 ; UHD, 4K, and 12G-SDI signals are not supported.

• The device is exclusively an encoder ; IP streams cannot be decoded.

• There is no local recording function available.

• The encoder does not have built-in Wi-Fi; network connection is established exclusively via Gigabit Ethernet.

• There is no scaler, frame rate converter, or video processing present; the incoming video signal is encoded as supplied.
