Features

The AVMATRIX SHARK S4M is a complete all-in-one solution that combines a professional video switcher and audio mixer in a single compact housing. This makes the S4M ideal for livestreams, podcasts, events, webinars, and hybrid productions where both video and audio are centrally controlled.

The switcher features two 3G-SDI inputs and two HDMI inputs , combined with an extensive audio mixer with six microphone/line inputs, two stereo line inputs, built-in DSP effects, Bluetooth audio, and USB audio recording. Additionally, the SHARK S4M supports livestreaming, recording to SD card or USB storage, and professional video features such as chroma key, picture-in-picture, and logo overlays.

Operation

The SHARK S4M processes up to four video sources that can be switched in real time via the physical controls on the front panel. At the same time, the integrated audio mixer offers extensive control over microphones, line sources, and embedded HDMI and SDI audio. Each microphone input features a high-quality preamplifier, 2-band EQ, low-cut filter, gain control, and volume control. Additionally, digital DSP effects can be applied for professional audio reproduction.

For livestreams, the switcher supports direct broadcasting via Ethernet with RTMP and SRT . Simultaneously, the program output can be recorded to an SD card or USB storage medium.

Via the USB-C connection, the SHARK S4M functions as a standard UVC video source, allowing it to be used directly with software such as OBS Studio, vMix, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams without additional drivers. Additionally, images, logos, and configurations can be easily imported or exported.

Limits

Although the SHARK S4M is a very complete solution, there are a few points to consider:

• Video processing is limited to 1080p60 ; UHD and 4K workflows are not supported.

• The switcher does not have an integrated multiview screen; an external HDMI monitor is required for this.

• Recordings are made exclusively from the program output; ISO recording of individual video sources is not possible.

• The SHARK S4M does not support NDI workflows.

• Streaming is supported via RTMP and SRT ; RTSP is not supported.

• PTZ camera control is not available on this model.

• Bluetooth is intended exclusively for audio playback and not for wireless video transmission.
