The AVMATRIX SHARK H4 is a compact 4-channel HDMI video switcher for livestreams, webinars, presentations, and multi-camera productions. Thanks to its metal housing, integrated streaming and recording functions, and professional video effects, the SHARK H4 forms a complete directing solution in a portable format.

With four HDMI inputs, you can easily switch between cameras, laptops, and other HDMI sources. The switcher supports direct livestreaming via Ethernet, recording to USB storage or SD card, and features a USB-C UVC output for use with popular streaming and video conferencing platforms.

Operation

The SHARK H4 processes up to four HDMI video sources that can be switched in real time via the buttons on the front panel, the integrated T-Bar, or the remote control software.

Via the HDMI Multiview output, all video sources, preview, program output, and status information are clearly displayed on an external monitor. The multiview features various layouts, so you always keep an eye on all sources during a production.

For livestreams, the switcher supports direct broadcasting via Ethernet with support for RTMP , RTMPS, and SRT . Simultaneously, the program output can be recorded to a USB stick or SD card in up to 1080p60 with a bitrate of up to 32 Mbps.

Via the USB-C connection, the SHARK H4 functions as a standard UVC webcam, allowing it to be used immediately with software such as OBS Studio, vMix, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams without additional drivers. Additionally, configurations can be easily saved or imported for various productions.

Limits

Although the SHARK H4 offers many professional features, there are a few points to consider:

• The switcher features only HDMI inputs ; SDI equipment can only be connected with an external converter.

• Video processing is limited to 1080p60 ; UHD and 4K workflows are not supported.

• There is no integrated multiview screen; an external HDMI monitor is required for monitoring.

• Recordings are made exclusively from the program output; ISO recording of separate video sources is not supported.

• The SHARK H4 does not support NDI workflows.

• Streaming is limited to one simultaneous stream via RTMP, RTMPS, or SRT.
