Operation

The ATEM 4 M/E Constellation IP processes live video streams entirely via SMPTE ST-2110 IP networks. Through redundant 100G Ethernet connections, multiple UHD video channels can be processed simultaneously with maximum reliability.

Each 100G connection supports both input and output channels and utilizes SMPTE-2022-7 Seamless Protection Switching. This involves transmitting dual video streams simultaneously via separate network paths. The system automatically reconstructs the correct video signal based on the first received data packets, virtually preventing interruptions.

All video sources are automatically converted to the configured switcher standard thanks to built-in standards converters on every input. This allows various HD and UHD formats to be used simultaneously within the same production.

The switcher is controlled via the ATEM Software Control application or optional hardware control panels.
