Magewell Pro Capture HDMI - PCIe Capture Card / 1× HDMI + Component / 2K

Key features

• HDMI 1.4a input with embedded audio
• Extra component, composite and analogue audio input via DB-9 breakout
• Input resolution up to 2048×2160, 10/12-bit colour
• Hardware deinterlacing, scaling and colour adjustment
• Supports timecode, 3D HDMI and custom EDID
• Low-profile PCIe Gen2 card

How it works

The card fits in a free PCIe slot and registers in the operating system as a standard capture device. The on-board FPGA handles deinterlacing, scaling, colour space and frame rate conversion in hardware, leaving the computer's processor free for encoding, streaming or recording. Each channel can deliver several streams at once, for example in different resolutions for recording and streaming. Multiple cards can be used in one system.

Applications

Streaming and recording workstations, production systems for events and houses of worship, broadcast ingest, medical and industrial imaging, and servers that must run 24/7.

Limitations

Single channel, no loop-through and no 4K. HDCP-protected sources cannot be captured.
