FieldCast 4Core MM Ultra Light, 100m on drum

TheFieldCast 4Core Main Cable MM UL, 100 m,is anultra-light,four-fiber, multimode fiber optic cable designed for professional use in AV, broadcast, and networking applications. Constructed withmultimode 50/125 OM3 fibers, the cable has a compact and flexible design and is supplied on a cable reel for controlled unwinding and storage. The fibers are marked in light blue to indicate their multimode identification.

Operation

The multimode fibers carry low-attenuation optical signals over short to medium distances, making them suitable for transmissions such as SDI-over-fiber, IP video, and data network connections within buildings or at locations with limited distance. The ultra-lightweight construction allows for flexible installation in mobile productions or temporary setups. The cable reel supports orderly management during unwinding and rewinding and reduces kinks and wear during repeated use.

Application

This 4-core multimode fiber optic cable is designed for professional indoor and outdoor installations such as events, broadcast trucks, studio sets, network systems, and AV backbones where multiple optical paths are required within a single cable. The additional fibers can be used for parallel connections, redundancy, or separate transmission paths within a single route.

Limits

The cable uses multimode OM3 fibers , which limits the maximum distance and bandwidth compared to single-mode long-distance solutions. Performance depends on the compatibility of connected equipment and the required transmission distance. Despite its flexible and robust, ultra-light construction, careful handling remains necessary to prevent damage to the fibers and connectors.
