Features

The AVMATRIX DE20-4K NDI is a professional 4K HDMI encoder and decoder with a built-in NDI|HX3 license . The device can convert HDMI signals to NDI|HX3 and IP streams, as well as convert NDI|HX3 or IP streams back to HDMI. This makes the DE20-4K NDI a versatile solution for livestreaming, AV-over-IP, NDI workflows, video distribution, and remote productions.

In addition to NDI|HX3, the encoder supports protocols such as SRT , RTMP , RTMPS , and RTSP . The device also features local recording to SD card, USB storage, or NAS, USB-UVC capture, PTZ camera support, PoE+, an OLED status display, and tally functionality.

Operation

The DE20-4K NDI can be used as both an encoder and a decoder.

In encoder mode , an HDMI signal is encoded in real-time to NDI|HX3 or an IP stream via SRT, RTSP, or RTMP(S). The video signal can be simultaneously recorded locally to an SD card, USB storage, or NAS, while the HDMI loop output remains available for monitoring or pass-through to other equipment.

In decoder mode, the DE20-4K NDI receives an NDI|HX3 or IP stream over the network and converts it to HDMI video up to UHD 4K30. This allows video to be easily distributed over existing networks without long HDMI cables. Thanks to support for USB video, PTZ control, and embedded audio, the device can be deployed in various AV and broadcast environments.

Limits

Although the DE20-4K NDI is very complete, there are a few points to consider:

• The HDMI input supports 4K60 , but NDI|HX3 encoding and HDMI decoding are limited to UHD 4K30 .

• This model supports NDI|HX3 and not Full Bandwidth NDI .

• Only one HDMI source can be processed at a time.

• There are no SDI connections available; an external converter is required for SDI sources.

• The device does not feature built-in video mixing or image scaling.

• A stable Gigabit Ethernet network is recommended for network use; Wi-Fi is intended exclusively for configuration and hotspot functionality and not for professional video transport.
